VOCA V530 Review of Pros And Cons

- Analysis by KJ David

A simple flip phone tailored to aging users, the VOCA V530's somewhat typical (for basic phones like itself) cons include a 3G-only network compatibility that obviously puts it on the back foot versus 4G-LTE-ready phones when it comes to connectivity. Also, it sounds pretty bulky, at 21mm , although a thin physique is almost never a pro for basic clamshell models like itself.

Like a good number of other senior-friendly phones listed here on Phonerated, the V530 features dual LCD screens. Its main screen measures 2.4-inches, while its external screen is smaller, at 1.77 inches. Sitting right under its smaller display are call buttons, which allow users to take or reject calls without having to flip the phone open -- the phone can also bet set to answer calls instantly when the phone is flipped. Its pros and cons also include a dedicated SOS button for emergencies as well as 12 speed dialing keys.

Also part of its specs is a charging cradle that holds the phone upright while it powers up, letting users glance to check for notifications and the current battery level every now and then. The V530 offers two SIM card slots and a memory card slot for up to 32GB's worth of portable storage . Note that a lot of comparable basic flip phones available as of this technical review support only 8GB or 16GB memory cards.

Among its more typical pros and cons are an FM radio, a flashlight function, and basic Bluetooth support. It also has a basic camera perched atop its external screen. It is offered in Black or Red and it features large font sizes and physical buttons, obviously underscoring its senior-friendly feature set.
