ZTE Nubia M2 Review & Pros And Cons

- Analysis by Christelle Nina

The people of Nubia tagged the N2 as a "mobile photography expert" -- and judging from its lineup of high-megapixel cameras, it looks like the phone really has potential to do justice to this claim. Looking deeper and taking into account what is being offered by similar smartphones, the 13-megapixel sensors found at the back aren't exactly the best you'll see in the M2's sub-category . As such, if you're all about the megapixel count, then you might find a better match elsewhere. However, the combination of a monochrome and an RGB sensor is what elevates the M2's status. Its selfie camera takes a more in-your-face approach, with 16 megapixels of photo-taking power in its armory.

As for display pros and cons, the M2 doesn't have the 1440p-and-up resolutions found on more-prominent high-end phones, but at 1080p, it still gives a moderately-competitive sharpness rating in the end (at 401DPI , which is equal to the iPhone 7 Plus'). It also comes with a protective Gorilla Glass finish .

The Nubia M2 weighs heavy (at 168 grams) compared to similar models, which takes a few points off its score. However, the device manages to retain a thin 7mm body -- quite surprising, given that its 3630mAh battery is among the more promising offerings on its market.

As far as performance goes, it chose to employ an octa-core Snapdragon 625 processor, which has a clock speed of 2GHz . If processor speed is the most important spec for you, it's worth noting that this isn't the best spec in the M2's subcategory. However, it does offer 4GB of RAM , which should help supplement the over-all performance of its hardware.

The ZTE Nubia M2 appears to be a knockout for mobile photography- and multimedia-lovers. The speed of its CPU means that it isn't the snappiest smartphone out there, nor is it the easiest to carry around, but its pros and cons show that it nonetheless deserves merit.
