- Analysis by KJ David

One of ZTE's most-advanced Nubia smartphones as of this data-driven review, the ZTE Nubia X features a mix of pros and cons that points it towards Phonerated's list of the best phones display-wise. It is one of the brand's first models to feature the back-to-back display technology , touting a 6.3-inch OLED main screen and a 5.1-inch rear screen, both of which come with wide 19:9 aspect ratios and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protective finishes. Sadly, none of the forenamed displays come with a premium-class 2K-1440p definition -- the main screen has a 2280 x 1080 FHD+ sharpness, while the secondary one settles for a mundane 1520 x 720 HD+ solution. The Nubia X is also among the first phones for offer dual fingerprint scanners , having a sensor implanted into its left and right edges.

This flagship-class model's cons include the absence of a memory card slot for storage expansion , which leaves users with only its in-built memory to work with -- its storage capacity varies between 512GB, 256GB, 128GB, and 64GB, depending on the model. Additionally, its 3800mAh battery power sounds a tad underwhelming, at least coming from a phone with two full-blown displays.

As for its pros, the Nubia X was among the fastest Android phones when it hit the market, running on the Snapdragon 845 2.8GHz (top speed) eight-core engine coupled with either 8GB or 6GB of LPDDR4X RAM . It also uses a high-class Adreno 630 graphics processor and its 4G modem reels in data rates of up to 1.2Gbps.

This Nubia high-ender does not have a front-facing selfie camera . Instead, users need to flip the phone over and use its high-caliber 16- plus 24-megapixel AI-powered dual camera to snap selfies. Its aforementioned cam is decked out with AI scene recognition, NeoVision 8.0, and phase-detection autofocus (PDAF). It is also accompanied by a dual-color temperature LED main flash and a selfie-timer soft LED flash for selfies.

Housing its pros and cons is a shell that's coated in colors like Sea Blue, Black Gold, and Starry Night, the latter making it sound more fashionable versus a lot of its 2018 upscale contemporaries.

With all those specs in mind, ZTE's Nubia X caters to power-hungry multitaskers, gamers, and tech-savvy shoppers.
