Alcatel Pop D3 Review of Pros And Cons

Picture of the Alcatel Pop D3, by Alcatel

- Analysis by KJ David

While it adds some slight tweaks to the Pop D1's substandard feature set, this 4-inch model still sports a pretty dated TFT 262K display and a VGA front-facing camera -- which surprisingly still exists among 2014 releases. It also fails to match the processing power of four-core entry-level Androids, running on a mere 1.3GHz dual-core engine .

Putting those lapses aside, Alcatel does add some more enthusiasming pros to this model, including the optional dual-purpose flip cover (but after gazing over the description, we still do not know if it is included but optional... or just optional sold separately ) and interchangeable back lids , both adding a layer of personalization to an otherwise mundane Android.

At the end of the day, the Pop D3 is an overall enhancement to the D1, but remains quite low-key by 2014 standards.
