BLU Vivo 5 Review of Pros And Cons

- Analysis by KJ David

Announced during the CES 2016, the BLU Vivo 5 offers a set of specs that takes the brand's Vivo Android family a notch higher, though it's still not safe from a couple of disgruntling cons.

While its 5.5-inch Super AMOLED Gorilla Glass 3 screen offers ample space for games and movies, we find its 720p (HD) resolution quite a disappointment, as Full HD (or even Quad HD) was clearly the better choice. Also, this 3150mAh-powered Android could have been a nice venue for 4K video capture , but its 13- and 5-megapixel cameras aren't too shabby.

Now for its pros: The Vivo 5 operates on a 1.3GHz 64-bit eight-core processor coupled with 3GB's worth of RAM , while a 32GB expandable native storage functions behind the scenes. We also like this phone's metal unibody and 6.9mm thinness , both accentuating its reversible USB Type-C connector .

To recap, the Vivo 5's assortment of pros and cons may not be flawless, but it is nothing short of high-end (as of 2015 Q1) either.
