Kyocera Hydro Reach Pros & Cons Review

Despite being a low-key 2016 Android, with only a qHD-540p 5-inch display and a 2-megapixel selfie camera , the Kyocera Hydro Reach potentially reaches more success than many of its rivals with its key specs.

Among its pros is an IP67 rugged certification , which means that it is dust-tight and can withstand a 1-meter water immersion for up to 30 minutes. There is also a matching Wet Touchscreen Operation feature that lets you navigate the phone normally even when the screen is wet. In addition, while it only has 2160mAh of power , which is a con in our book, the MaxiMZR Eco Mode that automatically turns off unnecessary functions to conserve energy seems like a nice touch, though it looks a little like other low-battery modes we have seen. Topping it off is 4G LTE connectivity, but we would have been surprised not to see this feature on a 2016 release.

So, when it comes to pros and cons, the Hydro Reach is not that different from most other budget-class smartphones, but its waterproofing obviously gives it a reach over many competitors.
