Micromax Canvas 5 Lite Review of Pros And Cons

- Analysis by KJ David

This Lite edition of the Canvas 5 drops out of the high-end department and opts for an entry-level package of pros and cons. Among its setbacks are a mediocre (by 2016 standards) 2000mAh battery that disappoints us with its 180-minute 4G talk time , knowing that the average when it came out was around 800 minutes. Additionally, it replaces the original model's eight-core CPU with a meager quad-core engine clocked at 1GHz .

Looking past those cons, the Micromax Canvas 5 Lite does feature a few decent pros -- relative to its other specs, that is. These include its 2GB RAM and 16GB memory , since lots of similarly-specked Androids settle for only 1GB of RAM and 8GB (even 4GB, for some) of storage. Its 4G LTE network reach and 8-megapixel rear camera also sound passable, compared to what most other entry-level 5-inchers offer.

In the end, even though it clearly loses its base phone's high-end luster, this Lite version should do the trick for the low-end Android shopper.
