Sony Xperia X Performance Review & Pros And Cons

While it does not have the LG G5's Quad HD screen and the Samsung Galaxy S7's 4GB RAM , the Sony Xperia X Performance joins the other two flagship devices in sporting Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 64-bit 2.1GHz + 1.6GHz quad-core CPU , with a not-too-shabby 3GB RAM tagging along. Its LTE Cat 9 connectivity , which was the most-advanced 4G network available as of the MWC 2016, is also a key pro over its base model, which settles for Cat 6 LTE networks.

The remainder of this variant's specs are almost the same as the plain Xperia X, however, including the high-resolution 23-megapixel hybrid autofocus camera with a pulse LED flash , the 13-megapixel low-light-sensor selfie camera , and the 200GB microSD allowance (32GB native memory).

Sony's signature PS4 Remote Play application as well as fingerprint recognition and Clear Audio+ also join the mix. That said, we cannot help but wish that 4K imaging was among its features .

All said, the Xperia X Performance's mix of pros and cons make us think twice about calling it a premium smartphone, but it clearly fits the bill for a high-end 2016 Android.
