- Analysis by KJ David
As expected of a Plus model, the Xiaomi Mi5 Plus adds more screen real estate (6-inch QHD) to the plain Mi5's display (5.7-inch QHD). It also boasts a 4GB RAM , as opposed to the Mi5's 3GB. Additionally, this variant runs on the MIUI V7 , instead of the plain one's version 6. That said, this model reduced the Mi5's clock speed from 2.7GHz to 2.5GHz , which is a rather weird thing for a Plus model to do.
Those are the only significant differences, though, as the Mi5 Plus's remaining pros and cons are roughly similar to its smaller sibling. These include the 16- and 8-megapixel sensors as well as the 64GB internal memory . Note that it does not come with a microSD slot .
At the end of the day, the Mi5 Plus appears to be an alternative for Xiaomi's flagship device intended for those looking for a little more screen space for gaming and binge-watching.
