This Lifestyle edition of HTC's Desire 10 suffers from several downgrades over the Pro version. Among these are its drop from a Full HD (1080p) 5.5-inch Gorilla Glass display to one with an HD-720p-only resolution and its slump to a 13-megapixel rear camera , which equals only the secondary cam of the Desire 10 Pro (It touts a 20-megapixel main camera).
In terms of hardware, the Lifestyle now comes with a quad-core CPU, replacing the Pro's eight-core Helio P10 chip , though for an Android in this class, its 1.6GHz clock rate and 3GB RAM do not sound too bad. Moreover, it has an up-to-2TB memory card support accompanying its 32GB/16GB memory, which we do not get everyday from semi-high-end smartphones.
Heading over to the music front, the Desire 10 Lifestyle potentially holds its own versus many higher-tier models, rocking a 24-bit Hi-Res certified Dolby Audio system bedecked with HTC's signature BoomSound Hi-Fi Edition . We cannot help but wish that it had more than 2700mAh of power , however. Wrapping up its pros and cons is a matte coating coupled with a metallic outline , with Valentine Lux and Royal Blue among its color options.
In review, the HTC Desire 10 Lifestyle is unlikely to beat its Pro version when it comes to technical specs, but it does wind up as a passable alternative for users with less-processing-hungry lifestyles.
