Overall, the Coolpad Mega's not-so-mega specs profile resembles those of many starter-class 2016 releases, but we spotted several pros amidst its old-fashioned cons.
Despite running on a middling 1GHz quad-core processor , the Mega offers a sizable 3GB RAM , potentially outperforming many of its rivals with regards to multitasking. Additionally, while its 8-megapixel rear camera does not sound like much , the Mega's secondary 8-megapixel cam (for selfies) is notably-promising coming from a phone in this Android class. Also, it levels with many higher-tier models with a 2.5D-curved-glass 5.5-inch HD screen , but it loses comparisons against most high-enders in terms of stamina, relying on a 2500mAh battery that scores only up to 150 hours on standby .
Verdict: Though we are not mega impressed by the Coolpad Mega's pros and cons, shoppers looking for a high-RAM, selfie-friendly budget smartphone should find it more-than-satisfactory.
