HTC Desire 601 Pros And Cons Review

Picture of the HTC Desire 601, by HTC

We imagine that using the HTC Desire 601 (aka HTC Zara) is rather like staying in the regular room of a luxury hotel - you get most of the amenities, sure, but the view, room, or service will not be as nice, big, or fast. The Desire 601 offers HTC technologies previously seen in the HTC One, namely, the Zoe mode that (among other things) lets you assemble successive photos into a 3-second clip, the BoomSound with its dual front-facing speakers that promise unrivaled sound, and the BlinkFeed home screen that lays out personalized content. But running on the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system with a 1.4GHz dual-core processor, it obviously also bears modest specs. It has a 4.5-inch qHD (960 x 540) screen, a 5-megapixel camera with a only a VGA front-facing camera (although the main camera does have a BSI sensor), 1GB RAM, only 4.5GB of memory available to the user (but the raw memory is 8GB), and a 2100mAh battery.

Yes, the Desire 601 is not exactly penthouse suite-material, but that is why it is from the Desire line-up and not the One.
