Huawei Ascend Y300 Review of The Pros And Cons

Picture of the Huawei Ascend Y300, by Huawei

We would like to be cheeky and say that the Ascend Y300's ascent to the high-level category of smartphones is hindered by its middling specs. But considering that Huawei probably never intended for it to make that high a climb anyway, we will say instead that it seems to be doing well in its class. It runs the relatively recent Android 4.1 Jelly Bean (partnered with Huawei's Emotion UI) and has a decent 1GHz dual-core processor, a 4-inch 800 x 480 screen, and a 5-megapixel camera. The 1730mAh battery it comes with has a standby time of 320 hours or 13 days, which surprisingly does only slightly better than other smaller batteries. Its 512MB RAM is just right for an entry-level smartphone, although its 1GB of usable internal memory seems a bit low (but you can expand it up to 32GB).
