Huawei Honor 8 Pros & Cons Review

Huawei's eighth Honor flagship misses out on a Quad HD display and captures Full HD (instead of 4K/Ultra HD) videos only , but most of its other specs still make it a major high-end contender from the Chinese brand.

One of its most-valuable pros is the dual 12-megapixel rear camera technology , which, even though lacks 4K video-recording, comes with a dual ISP setup and hybrid autofocus on top of options like background blurring and post-shot focus adjustment.

Its chic camera setup is backed by a flagship-caliber Kirin 950 2.3GHz + 1.8GHz octa-core CPU aided by an i5 co-processor , 4GB's worth of LPDDR4 RAM , and a Mali-T880 MP4 graphics engine . Leveling with its high-caliber hardware are a 3D fingerprint reader , a double antenna switch (for ensuring strong signal reception), and an 8-megapixel 1.4-micron-pixel selfie camera .

Sadly, the Huawei Honor 8 is not that big on battery power compared to several competing flagships, settling for 3000mAh only , while some rivals boast 4000mAh power caps, but with dual 2.5D glass layers and an aluminum alloy frame housing its pros and cons, it is no doubt a respectable 5.2-inch alternative for the tech-savvy Android user.
