iPhone 7 Pros & Cons Review

The rumors were true, the iPhone 7 does snub a traditional 3.5mm headset jack in favor of Apple's Lightning Connector or wireless AirPods, but this con is accompanied by several added pros over previous iPhone iterations -- including being the first water-resistant iPhone (IP67-certified) .

One of its brightest specs is its 12-megapixel f/1.8 camera boasting a quad-LED true-tone flash (the first of its kind) and a 6-element lens with a sapphire crystal protective cover . It features both 4K imaging and optical image stabilization , which is a combo that we have previously seen from some of its high-end Android counterparts. Up front, it touts a 7-megapixel f/2.2 FaceTime HD camera with backside illumination and a Retina Flash .

Despite having a mere 1334 x 720 326ppi-only display quality (many flagship Androids boast QHD screens on at least 400ppi), the iPhone 7's Retina HD interface delivers the 3D Touch technology and reaches brightness levels of up to 625 cd/m2 -- roughly 39% higher than the average as of this write-up). Its display and cameras aren't the only things with Apple's signature on them, though, since the iPhone 7 also introduces a solid-state, pressure-sensing Home button with fingerprint ID and taptic feedback .

Popping its hood open, the iPhone 7 features a 64-bit A10 Fusion chip with an embedded M10 motion coprocessor , which, when compared to the iPhone 6's, runs up to two times faster -- at least according to Apple. It also promises more battery life than its predecessors, despite not specifying its specific power cap , with above-average battery scores like an 840-minute Wi-Fi browsing time . Moreover, it posts a peak LTE data rate of 450Mbps and blusters with a 256GB maximum internal memory , although it still does not come with an external memory card slot .

So, based on its offering of pros and cons, the iPhone 7 does not feature anything we have not seen before from an Android device, but its perks will still likely have the iOS-preferring population placing the iPhone 7 (or its Plus version) atop their wishlists.
