The Kata C2's 5.5-inch display sports a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, which is pretty decent at its price point. Its IPS LCD screen, however, fails to keep up with comparable models, with only a 267 DPI count. As such, those who are fussy about crisp images and details may not take a liking to this phone.

What sets it apart from models at the same price point (and the same unlocked dual-SIM category) is its 13-megapixel main camera , considering that the average resolution for this still lies somewhere near 8-megapixels. Its rear lens is also protected by a Gorilla Glass cover . At 5-megapixels, its fixed-focus selfie shooter isn't as good as the Alcatel Pop 4's (which is another mid-tier model), but it isn't so bad either. The fact that both front and back cameras come with their own LED flash is also a plus.

With a MediaTek MTK6580A processor in its core, the C2 also comes with an Mali-400MP2 graphics processor. There's nothing spectacular to say about its 1.3GHz speed and four cores, except that these specs are sensible expectations in its specific market niche. Its 1GB RAM , however, easily falls short compared to what many other 2016 models have. Perhaps this has been one of the trade-offs that Kata made in order to bring down its good camera to a lower price point.

Next on its pros and cons list is its capacity. With 8GB of internal memory , it's not the best at multimedia storage, especially with its high-resolution camera in mind. However, this is where the its 64GB memory expansion slot comes to help.

Then, we have the issue of its bulkiness. At 9.2mm, it is thicker than many other models in its category. Accordingly, it weighs 6.56 ounces, which also makes it relatively-heavy . This may make the C2 troubling for people who value portability and thin design.

When it comes to longevity, the C2 burns through 2600mAh of power in the tank -- quite a disappointing figure, since a lot of phone companies have opted to give their recent releases at least 3000mAh's worth of battery power. As a result, its 200-hour standby time and 10-hour talk time both fail to keep up with the corresponding average values for these said specs.

As evidenced by this technical review, prospective buyers must pore over the Kata C2's pros and cons list with what they're willing to sacrifice (and their indispensables) in mind. But if you're still having a hard time, our Celliminator, which will find your 3 best phones, can be of great help.
