LG G2 Review of Pros And Cons

Picture of the LG G2, by LG

We are glad they included a 13-megapixel camera, NFC and a 5.2-inch display. The G2 indeed sounds like a new generation of LG smartphones (this one is practically a phablet). However, we think that the 5.47 ounces of weight are hard to swallow. That said, there is not much to complain about the G2 in terms of features. The smartphone/phablet is indeed quite feature-rich.

On-paper Review rating:

Let's Look at the Cons:

What sort of touch screen?:

Is the touch screen resistive or is it capacitive? We couldn't find out.

Ostensibly no HDMI plug:

It is all very well that the LG G2 can record fancy 1920 x 1080 videos, but we're surprised we didn't find any sign of the G2 sporting an HDMI port (which comes in handy to watch HD videos on your shiny HDTV without having to move them first to your computer).

Doesn't seem to have a memory expansion slot:

Does it include a memory expansion slot? LG's specifications do not seem to mention any.

Unknown weight:

It's disappointing that we were not able to find information about its weight.

And Now, the Pros:

It supports the wireless NFC protocol:

NFC is used by electronic payment systems and other uses.

Quad processor:

Not only does it have a 2.26 GHz processor clock speed, it also features 4 CPU cores.

Huge display:

We are talking about an above-average screen, making it a phablet: 5.2 inches and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels means about 11.55 square inches and an image sharpness of at least 423.84 dots per inch (DPI)!

High-resolution (13-megapixel) camera:

It includes a high-megapixel camera (13-megapixel) with the following options: And Time Catch, Audio Zoom, Beauty Shot, Burst Shot*, Capture Plus, Dual Camera, Dynamic Tone (HDR)*, Intelligent Auto, Panorama*, Scenes (Normal, Shot & Clear*, Shot & Clear, Shot*), Tracking Focus, VR Panorama*, Voice Command Capture.

Average front cam:

The selfie cam resolution seems just about average.
