LG G5 Pros & Cons Review

- Analysis by KJ David

Not only is LG's 2016 G5 one of the first major-brand smartphones to run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 2.1GHz quad-core processor , it is also among the earliest metal-framed models to offer battery interchangeability via a modular design concept , though it could have done better than a 2800mAh in-box battery .

The remainder of the LG G5's flagship-class specs include a Quad HD (2560 x 1440) 5.3-inch IPS Quantum screen with an impressive maximum brightness of 800 nits (the average when it came out was only around 450 nits) and a dual-rear-camera setup , particularly, 16- and 8-megapixel cameras -- a technology enabling shots of up to 135 degrees wide, with an 8x digital zooming function and LG's laser autofocus tagging along.

The G5 also boasts 4GB's worth of RAM and an Adreno 530 GPU , while sporting a secondary 8-megapixel camera for selfies. Also, while it does not offer 64GB- or 128GB-memory variants, the G5 supports a whopping 2TB of external memory .

Crowning its pros and cons are premium (as of its release) facets like USB Type-C and fingerprint recognition , making the G5 a worthy successor to the 2015 G4 in our book.
