LG G Flex Review of The Pros And Cons

Picture of the LG G Flex, by LG

A few years ago (the middle ages in tech time), the idea that a curved, pliable smartphone could exist would have been considered mind-bending. Now, the reality is we have two such bendy handsets, and the manufacturers promise there are more to come. One of them - LG's G Flex - even has a back coating that can rid itself of regular everyday scratches. Its 6-inch P-OLED display is of course also bendable (which LG says gives a theater-like viewing experience), although its resolution is only 1280 x 720 and its pixel density is a bit low at 245ppi. LG also touts its having the first ever curved battery (it has to survive being bent too, right?) that is quite powerful at 3500mAh.

Under the hood, it has an impressive quad-core 2.26GHz Snapdragon 800 processor, the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, a 13-megapixel camera that can shoot 3840 x 2160 videos at 60 frames per second, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of onboard memory (but no memory expansion). To say that the LG G Flex is an ambitious smartphone is probably an understatement, and watching where this curved smartphone trend will lead should be interesting.
