Oppo's 2017 A77 is a high-level 5.5-inch smartphone rocking a promising 16-megapixel f/2.0-aperture selfie camera that overpowers its primary rear-facing shooter as far as raw pixel resolution is concerned. Having said that, a frontal LED flash would have been a nice touch , knowing that several other selfie-focused models accompany their selfie cams with dedicated flash setups.

Sitting on the opposite side is the A77's 13-megapixel main camera, with features like an Expert Mode and Oppo's Anti-shake 2.0 technology in tow. It misses out on a premium resolution (something around 20 megapixels, as of its release) and 4K video-recording , though, so we would not say it's that big of a pro.
Looking into its other pros and cons, the A77 is home to a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS display that leaves room for a favorably-thin 2mm bezel . Also up front is a solid-state fingerprint scanner with a hydrophobic membrane -- mainly for locking/unlocking the device, but it can also be used for added file security.
Inside the engine room, the Oppo A77's processing specs consist of an eight-core MediaTek MT6750T 64-bit processor clocked at 1.5GHz alongside 4GB's worth of RAM . Around the time of its 2017 market entry, a 4GB RAM was a staple ingredient for high-end Androids. Moreover, while its maximum internal memory caps off at 64GB (Some of its rivals have 128GB on-board memories), its up-to-128GB microSD card support sounds satisfactory.

Although we have reviewed several comparable models with much-larger battery capacities, the A77's 3200mAh power cap is not too shabby, since none of its pros and cons -- other than the advanced selfie cam -- really demand an ultra-high-end power supply. Wrapping things up (literally) for the A77 is its sleek-look metal unibody , an LTE network adapter enabling up-to-150Mbps data rates , and Oppo's ColorOS 3.0 platform based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

So, seeing that it mixes some upscale cameras with competent hardware and a middle-class battery, the Oppo A77 sounds like a reasonable purchase for those who are willing to put up with a few modest features for a taste of high-end imaging.
