RugGear RG100 Review & Pros And Cons

- Analysis by KJ David

This hulking 23mm-thick basic bar phone may not be that impressive on the display and processing fronts, lugging a 2-inch QCIF-176p screen and a mere 8MB RAM accordingly, but its other specs make it more outdoor-ready than your average candybar.

The RugGear RG100 is home to a 2400mAh battery , while most other models in this class settle for less-than-1000mAh power caps. It further its outdoorsy swagger with IP68, as well as MIL-STD-810G rugged certifications , which mean that it is impervious to water and has a native resistance to accidental drops. Lastly, it supports up to 32GB of external memory and comes with a bevy of complementary accessories , such as a cleaning towel and, believe it or not, a screwdriver.

So, while its pros and cons are obviously of the lowest mobile caliber, its toughened shell and large battery may be convincing selling points for some shoppers.
