Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro Review & Pros And Cons

- Analysis by Christelle Nina

The Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro's front and back cameras take the spotlight in this pros and cons review. Its imaging capabilities can compete (and even beat) the offerings provided by flagship smartphones like the iPhone 7 Plus or even Samsung's very own Galaxy S7 edge. Both sensors are 16-megapixel and come with their own flash -- LED for the rear shooter and Auto flash for the front-facing option . However, it may be rather disappointing for some that it can't record 4K videos , a feature that is being offered by an increasing number of comparable devices.

Its processing specs are also competitive. Sporting an eight-core Snapdragon 625 processor, its 2.2GHz clock speed may not be the best, but it's marginally close to what the top-shelf models offer. It's among the highest CPU speeds in Samsung's lineup, beating that of the Samsung Galaxy A7 2017 -- which is pretty much like the C7 Pro's moderately-slower but slightly more powerful (in terms of battery) sibling -- or its predecessor, the Galaxy C7.

While it has what it takes to go head-to-head with the first-rates in terms of camera and performance, perhaps the greatest indicator that this device is still shy of being a flagship is its display. While it sports the Samsung-staple Super AMOLED screen, its 1920 x 1080 display resolution is no sensational feat. However, it's still reasonable for a device on its market range. What may be the deal-breaker here is the fact that it doesn't come with the protection of a Gorilla Glass finish , unlike many of its contemporaries.

Looking every bit like the semi-premium smartphone that it is, it boasts of an aviation-grade aluminum alloy unibody . It's also thinner than most other phones at 7mm , making it an appealing option for fans of aesthetics and portability alike.

These pros and cons show that the C7 Pro can be a viable choice for smartphone users who are into high-megapixel cameras and competitive hardware. On the other hand, it may not be the best choice for people who are highly-conscious about the quality of their device's display.
