It is hard to criticize a phablet-smartphone that beefs up its CPU, display and camera (13 megapixels) while at the same time losing weight -- the Galaxy Note II was 12 grams heavier. It even has a huge 3200 mAh battery, which sounds quite reasonable. However, we would have liked more details on the camera options and features. High-resolution is palatable, indeed, but what about the image handling exactly?
On-paper Review score:
It's great that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 can record high-resolution 1920 x 1080 movies, but we were disappointed not to find any evidence of the Galaxy Note 3 featuring an HDMI port (which is convenient to watch HD videos on your shiny HDTV.)

By today's standards, we demand more than only 2-megapixel of selfie camera resolution.

It's frustrating that we could not find its weight information.
It embarks a bunch of interesting sensors (including a Barometer Temperature & Humidity sensor!).
NFC is becoming increasingly important for electronic payments and other applications.

Not only does it have a 2.3 GHz processor clock speed, but it also has 4 cores.
We're dealing with a hefty display here, making it a phablet: 5.7 inches and a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels means about 13.87 square inches and an image quality of at least 386.32 dots per inch (DPI)!
The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is not sold with a memory card but it can accept up to 64 GB of memory expansion, which is convenient to store photos taken with the built-in 13-megapixel camera.
It sports a high-resolution built-in camera (13-megapixel)
