SKY 7.0 W Review of Pros And Cons

- Analysis by Christelle Nina

First on the SKY 7.0W's pros and cons analysis are its display specs. Its 7-inch screen may satisfy hardcore phablet-lovers as this display size is pushing into tablet territory. However, it is disappointingly equipped with a sub-HD 1024 x 600 resolution , which means that this device isn't your best bet if you're after well-defined and sharp images. With this in mind, its pixel count isn't exactly the worst, after all (at its subcategory). The graph below shows that the 7.0W has what it takes to compete with the more expensive LG G3 Stylus (as far as pixel count is concerned), but keep in mind that the latter's screen is smaller at 5.5 inches.

As far as camera-related pros and cons go, one really can't expect stellar imaging capabilities from this model. After all, the sub-$100 price tag is among the lowest we've seen for a phablet of its size. The rear camera comes in at 5 megapixels , but it is equipped with an LED flash . Its 2-megapixel selfie shooter seems unsurprising at its price tag, but the fact that it's cutting closer and closer to obsolescence at this particular point is clear.

The SKY 7W, however, is armed with good looks. At 8.7mm, its thickness is impressive for its size. Also, metal finishes are still rare for low-end smartphones. As such, the fact that its back cover comes in a sophisticated-looking metal finish is definitely a plus.

When it comes to its processing capabilities, a glaring con would be its 512MB RAM . However, this may still be justified by its price tag. Its 1.3GHz clock speed is also not so bad, but users may find its 4GB native storage lacking, now that a minimum internal capacity of 8GB seems to be evolving into a rock-bottom norm. Luckily, the device sports a microSD slot that expands its memory by 64GB .

As for battery specs, the 7.0W's 2000mAh battery fails to impress, too. It's a far cry from the 3000mAh-and-up devices (whether low-end or not) that were continuously being released as of January 2017. We can't find its usage and talk time, but it's safe to assume that a 2000mAh tank wouldn't take a 7-inch smartphone to great lengths.

All in all, the 7.0W is an affordably-priced phablet, which may satisfy those who wouldn't mind entry-level specs.
