ZTE Axon 7 mini Pros & Cons Review

As expected of a mini version, the ZTE Axon 7 mini suffers several downgrades over the original Axon 7, including its drop from a QHD-1440p display resolution to FHD-1080p (5.2-inch screen this time) and its failure to reach the 3000mAh battery power sweet spot for 2016-released high-enders -- it has only 2705mAh .

Setting those cons aside, however, this mini follow-up features both voiceprint recognition and fingerprint-based security , the former potentially making a significant difference, considering that not many 2016 models offer such pro. It also delivers a high-resolution pair of 16- and 8-megapixel cameras , although 4K imaging is not listed among their features . Instead, it captures 1080p (Full HD) videos at best.

Several more of the Axon 7 mini's high-class specs include a 1.5GHz + 1.2GHz Snapdragon 617 CPU , a 3GB RAM , and dual front-ported speakers that feed Hi-Fi audio with Dolby Atmos sound effects . To tie its pros and cons together, it rocks a metal unibody , a rather familiar facet for Androids of this caliber.

With all its features in place, this 5.2-incher ends up as a respectable alternative for high-end shoppers who find the original Axon 7's profile a tad of an overkill.
