ZTE Obsidian Review of Pros And Cons

Picture of the ZTE Obsidian, by ZTE

- Analysis by KJ David

Rightfully named after a dark volcanic rock, the ZTE Obsidian is not a very bright Android 5.1 Lollipop smartphone. It pros and cons are driven by a mere 1GHz quad-core CPU , with only 1GB's worth of RAM to work with. Its 5- and 2-megapixel camera sensors are far from being impressive, too, especially given the rise of 5-megapixel selfie cams, even in the budget Android department. Another disturbing con is its mere 4GB memory , which is probably as low as it gets for a smartphone pitched by a major brand.

The Obsidian does pack LTE connectivity and M3/T3 hearing aid ratings , though we still think it will have a rocky time on its low-class shelf.
