Huawei Ascend G 615 Review & Pros And Cons

Picture of the Huawei Ascend G 615, by Huawei

An above-average Android smartphone, the Huawei G 615 packs some serious processing power with its quad-core 1.4GHz CPU. The rest of the specs are mostly respectable. For example, its 4.5-inch IPS display has a 720p HD resolution and 330 pixels per inch (which is comparable to the iPhone 5 and its 326 PPI display). The 1GB RAM and the 8-megapixel camera are also noteworthy. The only let down we found is the lack of 4G technology, as it only supports 3G high-speed data.

On-paper Star rating:

Let's Look at the Cons:

Apparently no HDMI plug:

It is nice that the Huawei Ascend G 615 can record fancy 1920 x 1080 videos, but we're surprised we didn't find any sign of the Ascend G 615 sporting an HDMI port (which comes in handy to watch HD videos on your shiny HDTV without having to move them first to your computer).

Sub-standard selfie cam:

Nowadays, we expect more than only 1.3-megapixel of selfie camera resolution.

Unknown weight:

It's frustrating that we could not find its weight information.

Pros:

4.5-inch screen is larger than usual:

It has a rather large, 4.5-inch display, with a 1280 x 720 resolution.

Interesting onboard memory:

The Huawei Ascend G 615 features a larger user memory (8000MB), but it may sometimes be better to buy a phone with an included memory card instead, since the memory card can then be reused in a future cell phone.

High-megapixel camera:

Above-average image resolution - of 8-megapixel - with these features: Auto-focus, HDR effect optimization.
