Samsung Rugby III Review & Pros And Cons

Picture of the Samsung Rugby III, by Samsung

Like its predecessor, the Rugby III is tough enough to handle shocks, dust, and rain. It also includes Push-To-Talk technology and aGPS navigation. It seems to us that this phone is more for business than pleasure. Entertainment features are underplayed. It only includes a 2.4-inch internal screen and a 3-megapixel camera.

On-paper Star rating:

Pros:

Lower than average radiation:

It has a SAR rating of just 0.47 w/kg, which is good, considering that SAR is expressed on a scale of 0 to 1.60 w/kg.

Rugged:

It is touted as more resistant to water, dust and shocks.

Decent camera:

A 3-megapixel camera with a few interesting features (Shooting modes (Single, Continuous, Panorama, Smile shot, Mosaic, Frame), Night Shot mode, Photo size, White balace (Auto, Daylight, Incandescent, Fluorescent, or Cloudy), Metering exposire, Effects (None, Black and white, Sepia Negative, Watercolor), Quality (Normal, Fine, Superfine), GPS, Edit photo) is no marvel, but it's quite decent for a standard cell phone.

High talk time:

Its 540 minutes of talk time is above the average. Even if talk time ratings are not necessarily measured the same way by each manufacturer, this is still an indication that the Samsung Rugby III will likely last more than other handsets.

Cons:

Does the memory fit with the camera?:

The Rugby III proudly features a 3-megapixel camera, but you may have to buy a memory card (up to 32GB) if you want to take pictures frequently because the built-in memory is only 256MB...

Unknown weight:

It's disappointing that we could not find its weight information.
