Samsung S275G Pros & Cons Review

Picture of the Samsung S275G, by Samsung

Samsung obviously designed this clamshell phone with simplicity in mind. Case in point, it has a minimalistic form factor and only a basic 1.3-megapixel camera. However, we liked that they included a keypad with large keys, which should make it easier to use.

On-paper Review score:

Let's Look at the Cons:

Small display, even by flip phone standards:

Sure, flip phones tend to be small and have tiny displays, but the S275G features only a 1.76-inch screen and we think it's very little. You can easily find flip phones with displays of 2.2 or even 2.8+ inches.

Stone-age camera:

A 1.3-megapixel is hardly enough to make decent photos, especially that a lot of cheap camera phones make higher-resolution pictures.

Doesn't seem to have a memory expansion slot:

Does it include a memory expansion slot? Samsung's specifications do not seem to mention any.

Ultra-basic display:

It has a relatively low screen image fineness (only 116.79 pixels per inch (or dots per inch)).

Unknown weight:

It's frustrating that we were not able to find information about its weight.

Now, the Pros:

Lower than average radiation level:

It has a SAR rating of only 0.578 w/kg, on a scale of 0 to 1.60 w/kg. Phones with such a low SAR rating are exceptional

Basic camera but decent options:

Though the 1.3-megapixel camera is only basic, it at least offer a few advanced control options, such as: Multi-shot, Shot modes, Zoom

** This phone is also known as: TracFone S275G
