Taking a break from its wide Pop and Pixi series, Alcatel crafts a high-class 5-incher in the X1, which headlines its pros with an eye-biometric system for phone security.
That being said, the X1's 5-inch Super AMOLED LTPS display suffers from a middle-class HD-only (1280 x 720) resolution and a highly-underwhelming 2150mAh battery capacity
. In comparison, many of its rivals in the high-end market have at least Full HD (1080p) displays and up-to-3000mAh stamina caps.
Those cons aside, the X1's favorable specs include a 2.5D Dragontrail Glass front finish , a 2.5D Gorilla Glass back cover
, and anodized aluminum edges on its 6.99mm-thin body
. Moreover, it touts a 13-megapixel dual-tone-LED-flash rear camera
as well as a 5-megapixel UltraPixel selfie cam with its own frontal LED flash
, while the Cirrus Logic and Arkamys audio technologies
take charge of the music front. Topping it off is a split-eight-core 1.4GHz + 1GHz CPU
and 16GB of inbuilt storage.
Looking back, while the Alcatel X1 could have done better in terms of stamina and display resolution, its design and multimedia elements likely put its package of pros and cons in high-end Android territory nonetheless.
