When it comes to technical pros and cons, the 2019 Asus ZenFone Live L2 is a budget-class smartphone tailored to users who are quite meticulous when it comes to storage and battery life. Like a good number of budget Androids, though, it settles for some low-key hardware components. It is offered in two specs configurations, one running on a 1.4GHz eight-core Snapdragon 430 engine and another using the 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 chip -- either way, it far from levels with the fastest smartphones on the market. Moreover, both variants offer no more than 2GB of LPDDR3 RAM , which, as of this data-driven Phonerated review, was a telltale sign of a low-budget smartphone.

Also among its cons are a modest 5-megapixel f/2.4-aperture selfie camera that's at least aided by a front-firing softlight LED flash and a 5.5-inch display whose phablet-esque 18:9 aspect ratio feels rather wasted, given its mundane HD+ 1440 x 720 sharpness .

As for its pros, the ZenFone Live L2 possibly fares well versus most other models within this Android class stamina-wise, offering a 3000mAh battery that scores a 29-hour 3G talk time that was roughly 130 percent higher than the average value as of this write-up and a 42-day maximum standby time . Its 13-megapixel 5P-lens main camera sounds tolerable as well, at least by 2019 Q2 budget smartphone standards.

Joining its selling points is the mammoth 2TB memory card slot accompanying its 32GB/16GB on-board memory, while its exterior is plastered in a glossy gradient finish of either Cosmic Blue or Rocket Red.

Although it does not come with a typical fingerprint scanner , this ZenFone Live edition offers a Face Unlock feature . It also delivers 4G LTE connectivity and dual nano SIM card slots.

With the Android 8.0 Oreo system skinned with the brand's ZenUI 5 topping off its list of pros and cons, the ZenFone Live L2 could do the trick for stamina-cautious budget smartphone shoppers.

On-paper Review score:

First, the Cons:

Is there an HDMI port?:

The ZenFone Live L2 can record high-resolution (1920 x 1080 pixels) movies. Bravo! But we couldn't confirm whether it had an HDMI port or not. HDMI, which lets you connect to an HDTV, is not essential, but would be great on an HD phone.

Unknown weight:

It's frustrating that we were not able to find information about its weight.

Now, the Pros:

Huge display:

The screen is big, making it a phablet: 5.5 inches and a resolution of 1440 x 720 pixels means about 12.1 square inches and an image sharpness of at least 292.68 dots per inch (DPI)!

Memory can be expanded up to 2000GB:

The Asus ZenFone Live L2 doesn't come with an included memory card but it supports up to 2000GB of memory expansion, which is convenient to store photos shot with the included 13-megapixel (or 8-megapixel, depending on variant) camera.

High-megapixel camera:

Superior image resolution - 13-megapixel (or 8-megapixel, depending on variant) - with these features: Beauty, HDR, Panorama, PixelMaster camera modes (Auto, Portrait, Time-lapse with power-saving, filters).

Average front cam:

The selfie cam resolution seems just about average.
