An entry-level smartphone in nearly every sense of the word, the Blackview A20's biggest pro is its Android Go operating system , which is essentially a version of the stock Android platform with re-imagined apps that are designed to consume less phone memory and demand less processing power, consequently promising a 15 percent faster performance versus most conventional Androids within its price point -- it was pegged at roughly 70 dollars as we were reviewing its specs.
Its hardware components include an elementary quad-core 1.3GHz MT6580 processor coupled with an equally-low-end 1GB-only RAM
. Another huge con is its lack of 4G-LTE network compatibility
, which, as we were writing this Phonerated analysis, was all but a standard smartphone facet, even in the entry-level category.

Still on its weak points, the A20 offers only 8GB of internal memory and supports no more than 32GB of storage expansion , whereas a few of its low-end rivals come with twice as much on-board memory and allow up to 128GB of top-up storage.
Despite being a low-end Android, though, the A20's array of pros and cons is not utterly disappointing. For instance, it feeds off a 3000mAh battery that although won't plug it into our list of the best big-battery smartphones on the market, sounds generous when clubbed with its forenamed processing specs. Its battery scores up to 20 hours of audio playback and lasts for up to 18 days on standby.
Camera-wise, the A20 is among the cheapest smartphones to offer a dual-lens camera setup , touting 5- and 0.3-megapixel cameras on its rear side. Sadly, its dinosaur-esque 2-megapixel front cam
is not as promising. As for its screen, this 3G-only model features a wide, but low-resolution, 5.5-inch 18:9 IPS display with a 960 x 480 FWVGA+ screen sharpness
.
With a Gold, Blue, or Black shell encasing its pros and cons, the A20 makes for a feasible choice for first-time smartphone users and those who want no more than a basic Android phone.
