The DOOGEE S90 is one of the world's first modular rugged phones 
(Check out the best rugged phones here), which means that it can be combined with accessories/mods that accentuate certain functionalities. For instance, it has a compatible Night Vision Camera Mode for low-light photography or video-recording, a walkie-talkie module for communication within remote areas, and a Game Mod that turns the phone into a makeshift joystick.
That big pro aside, the S90 is not without a couple of cons, one of which is its hulking 300g body weight 
and middling Helio P60 dual-cluster 2GHz eight-core processor -- some of the best octa-core models available as of this specs-based review run on 2.5GHz (or faster) engines. Fortunately for this rugged contender, its processing chip is accompanied by a hefty 6GB RAM .
Speaking of rugged, this DOOGEE model passes IP68/IP69K and MIL-STD-810G rugged certifications . The former makes its shell impervious to dust grains and liquids, while the latter makes it a lot sturdier versus conventional Android phones with tantamount pros and cons.
Like a good number of other upmarket contenders featured here on Phonerated, the S90's 6.2-inch 1080p U-notch display, which is reinforced with a scratch-resistant Gorilla Glass 4 finish , sounds appreciable in our book. Its 128GB memory expandable by up to 256GB passes the 2019 Q1 semi-high-end yardstick as well.

The S90's mix of pros and cons also includes a fingerprint scanner, Face Unlock, and a programmable Shortcut Key that may be configured to call up emergency services (SOS) or launch the phone's native Game Mode.
Although rugged phones don't usually pay that much attention to imaging, the S90 satisfies us with its 16- plus 8-megapixel dual rear camera, which is accompanied by a rarely-seen (as of its market entry) quad-LED flash and phase-detection autofocus. It also offers a somewhat standard 8-megapixel Sony-IMX134-sensor selfie cam.
Wrapping up, DOOGEE's S90 caters to outdoor-lovers eying a high-endurance rugged mobile companion.

The screen is larger than usual, making it a phablet: 6.2 (actual diagonal size is 6.18 inches) inches and a resolution of 2246 x 1080 pixels means about 15.04 square inches and an image quality of at least 403 dots per inch (DPI)!
The S90 is not sold with a memory card but it can accept up to 256GB in memory expansion, which is convenient to store pictures and video clips taken with the built-in 16-megapixel (combined with an 8-megapixel sub-cam) camera.

The selfie cam resolution seems just about average.
