The Mate 9 Pro is a higher-class version of Huawei's already-high-end Mate 9 flagship that brings its 4GB LPDDR4 RAM capacity up to 6GB
and touts a 5.5-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440) 534ppi Curved AMOLED screen
this time, instead of the plain model's 5.9-inch Full HD (1080p) interface.
Those differences aside, the Huawei Mate 9 Pro reintroduces most of its sibling's chic specs, including its Leica-powered dual-rear-camera setup, consisting of a 20-megapixel monochrome cam for fine details and a 12-megapixel RGB cam for regular shooting
. Building around the aforementioned pro, this Mate 9 edition delivers a quad hybrid autofocus system
, 4K-2160p video-recording
, and 2x hybrid zooming
. That said, its 8-megapixel f/1.9 front-facing sub-cam
does not share such premium DNA, since a few of its flagship rivals rock higher-caliber selfie shooters.
Accompanying its blustering RAM is a Huawei Kirin 960 eight-core CPU (2.4GHz + 1.8GHz) with an i6 co-processor
and a Mali-G71 MP8 graphics engine
. Stamina-wise, it relies on a similar 4000mAh battery pack, despite upgrading the screen and RAM
, but it does promise up to 105 hours of continuous audio playback
alongside a 30-hour 3G talk time
.
Also inside its bag of pros and cons are an LTE-A Cat 12 adapter reaching a 600Mbps peak data rate
, a 3D fingerprint reader
, and a 4-microphone setup accompanied by directional audio-recording
, while in charge of storage is a 128GB expandable memory
.
With a metal unibody
finished in Haze Gold or Titanium Grey and the Android 7.0 Nougat ecosystem skinned with EMUI 5.0 rounding out its perks, the Mate 9 Pro is bound for tech-savvy buyers in search of a performance- and photography-first smartphone.
