NUU Mobile's 2018 G3 is a middle-class smartphone whose biggest pitfalls include its 720p-only screen definition (1440 x 720, to be exact), which diminishes the appeal of its otherwise respectable 5.7-inch 18:9 facade -- its screen aspect ratio, by the way, was quite popular among the best large-screen smartphones as of this specs-based review.

Compared to what some of its unlocked dual-SIM rivals offer, its 64GB internal storage memory sounds sounds like a slight con as well, although its 128GB maximum external memory support sounds somewhat reassuring. Its hardware components are not all drawbacks, though, in fact, its biggest pro is the Helio P25 octa-core 2.39GHz processor powering its feature set -- a lot of its semi-high-end competitors run on engines that clock in at more or less 2GHz only. Accompanying its engine is a 4GB RAM that was just about the go-to capacity among a lot of similarly-specked Androids when it came out.

The NUU Mobile G3 rocks a dual-lens rear camera (probably to try to keep up with some of the most popular photography-driven smartphones around) that's infused with the PureCel Plus imaging technology and phase-detection autofocus (PDAF). It consists of a 13-megapixel standard-photography cam and a 5-megapixel depth-sensing deputy cam, together enabling things like Bokeh or SLR-like background blurring for portrait shots.

Its list of pros and cons also includes a 13-megapixel front-facing camera that edges out those of some of its close rivals, at least when it comes to raw pixel resolution -- a good number of competing models settle for 8-megapixel-only selfie shooters. Additionally, it packs a 3000mAh battery, which, as of this Phonerated analysis, sounds just right for a middle-class option.

NFC, standard 4G-LTE connectivity, and biometric user authentication (fingerprint and facial recognition) join the mix as well, while a glass backing and a Sapphire Blue finish hold all of its pros and cons together.

In the end, the NUU G3 is an unlocked mid-ranger that could have done better in terms of screen sharpness, but it does make up for that weakness with a promising processor and a dual-lens camera.
