Standing at 5.5 inches, the Oppo A53's bundle of pros and cons makes it a mid-class ColorOS 2.1 (based on Android 5.1) model overall.
Its drawbacks include an HD (instead of Full HD) screen resolution
as well as a meager 267ppi pixel density
-- in comparison, many of its rivals skirt the 400ppi mark. Despite that, its screen enjoys a 2.5D-arc glass layer
, which we have only seen on upmarket phones around its release. Also among the A53's pros are NFC (Near Field Communication)
, an octa-core Snapdragon 616 CPU clocked at 1.5GHz
(2GB RAM), and a 3075mAh battery rigged with the 5V2A fast charging technology
. Its pair of 13- and 5-megapixel cameras
line up with that of many full-blown high-enders as well.
Despite a few lapses on the display department, Oppo manages to deliver a passable mix of mid- and high-tier features with the 2015 A53.
