Samsung Galaxy A20e Review of Pros And Cons

- Analysis by KJ David

A more economical version of the Galaxy A20, which is probably what the e stands for, the Samsung Galaxy A20e's cons include a smaller display and a less-appealing battery than its 6.4-inch base model's. Even though it retains the phablet-class 19.5:9 aspect ratio , it features a modest 5.8-inch facade that's marred by a 1560 x 720 HD+ definition only and a relatively-cheap TFT architecture -- a good number of its Samsung cousins feature AMOLED or Super AMOLED screens. Stamina-wise, it drops from the original A20's 4000mAh battery power to only 3000mAh this time . Keep in mind, however, that its battery scores, which include a 15-hour 4G browsing time and a 19-hour 3G talk time, fare well versus the corresponding average marks as of this technical Phonerated review.

On the flip side, its pros include a dual camera consisting of a 13-megapixel f/1.9 primary cam and a 5-megapixel wide-angle (123 degrees) dedicated to landscape photography. Up front sits a so-so 8-megapixel front-facing secondary camera for selfies.

Among its processing pros and cons are a mid-level dual-cluster eight-core processor , which is made up of a dual-core main cluster running at 1.6GHz and a six-core efficiency cluster -- the former is dedicated to games and other demanding applications, while the latter is tailored to day-to-day use. By the way, don't forget to check out our list of the best eight-core phones here. Its engine works hand-in-hand with a modest 3GB RAM .

The A20e offers only 32GB of native memory , but it does support up to 512GB's worth of external storage , which was one of the highest top-up memory ceilings available within its price group as we were looking into its specs.

With a finish of either either White, Coral, Blue, or Black, rounding out its pros and cons, the Galaxy A20e seems like a feasible choice for budget-tier smartphone shoppers looking for a taste of dual-lens imaging and a cheap, but expansive, 19.5:9 interface.
