- Analysis by KJ David

The REVVL 2 is a T-Mobile-branded smartphone that follows up a 2017 model of the same name, its biggest difference from its mother model being its screen setup. While the first REVVL model touts a 1280 x 720 16:9 5.5-inch screen, the REVVL 2 is more in touch with the popular phablet trends of its time, still offering 5.5-inches of screen space, but this time with a wider 18:9 aspect ratio , which also means that it has a bit more pixels (It touts a 1440 x 720 HD+ definition).

That being said, the remainder of its pros and cons, including its run-of-the-mill 2GB RAM count and 1.5GHz quad-core-only MediaTek MT6739 processor , are very similar to its entry-level sibling -- a lot of its 2018 budget-tier rivals reach the 3GB RAM threshold and use basic eight-core engines. The REVVL 2's biggest pros include its IP52 and IK02 rugged ratings . The former makes it dust- and water-resistant, while the latter gives it native resistance to shocks and accidental drops. This model's combination of a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and facial recognition winds up as a perk in our book as well, knowing that not many Androids with comparable specs featured such biometric authentication combo around the time of this data-driven review.

Joining in as a respectable 3000mAh battery pack that outstrips what some of its budget-class competitors offer, at least in terms of raw power capacity. It also comes with 32GB's worth of on-board memory, which can be expanded by a maximum of 128GB.

Its imaging pros and cons consist of a 13-megapixel primary camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing cam, both of which, by 2018 standards for entry- to mid-level Androids, sound neither impressive nor disappointing. Some users, particularly those who are fond of taking selfies, might appreciate its dedicated frontal LED flash , though.

Topped off by 4G LTE Cat 4 connectivity, this Alcatel-made T-Mobile release passes as a decent choice for those eying a well-rounded budget-tier Android phone.
