Though sporting only a 1280 x 720 (HD) 5-inch screen and a 2GB RAM (3 gigs of RAM makes more sense for its Snapdragon 616 octa-core CPU ), the Xiaomi Redmi 3 boasts a couple of huge enhancements from the previous Redmi model. These include its 4100mAh battery power (up from 2200mAh) as wel as 13-megapixel camera (up from 8 megapixels). The Redmi 2's 8GB memory and up-to-32GB microSD allowance also shot up to 16 gigs, with its memory card slot now working with 128GB microSD cards .

We also found another pro in its 5-megapixel front-facing camera, as its predecessor offered a mere 2-megapixel selfie shooter. That being said, an additional con comes in the form of its plastic finish , especially with the popularity of metal unibodies in the high-end department.

In the end, the Redmi 3's specs may not be perfect, but it undoubtedly took Xiaomi's primary Android line a notch higher in terms of pros and cons.
