Maintaining the high-end specs DNA of Xiaomi's Redmi Note series, the Redmi Note 8 banks on an upmarket camera that might plug it into Phonerated's list of the best phones for photography. Having said that, though, its array of pros and cons is far from flawless.
For starters, it runs on a middling 2GHz eight-core Snapdragon 665 processor 
, despite many of the leading octa-core-powered models as of this technical review using at least 2.5GHz engines. Its 4GB RAM count does not sound that promising either, at least compared to the 6GB or 8GB capacities offered by a few of its competitors in the wide-screen Android department.
Speaking of wide-screen, one of its pros is its 6.3-inch 19.5:9 Dot Drop display that's furbished by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 panel 
-- something more than a 2340 x 1080 FHD+ resolution would have been nice, though.
As mentioned earlier, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8's biggest selling point is its quad camera setup , which consists of a highly-competitive 48-megapixel primary lens, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, and two 2-megapixel cams -- one for macro shooting and the other for depth-of-field analysis. This 2019 release holds back on the selfie department, though, sticking to a somewhat standard (as of its release) 13-megapixel front-facing camera , although it's not that big of a con in our book -- still, something more than 13 megapixels would have been nice, considering its upscale primary camera.
This model comes with a 4000mAh battery pack that supports an 18W fast-charging system, while a 128GB native memory takes charge of the storage front. Note that 64GB and 32GB versions are also offered for those who aren't really looking for a premium-class mix of pros and cons.

Coated in colors like Neptune Blue, Space Black, and Moonlight White, this 6.3-incher from Xiaomi caters to those who value imaging power more than anything else.
