Retaining the now-legendary Nokia 3310's classic monoblock form factor, the Nokia 3310 4G squeezes some modern-day specs into its list of pros and cons, although it shares some weaknesses with the slightly-older 3G-limite version. For instance, it still comes with a 2-megapixel-only camera that at least has its own LED flash, whereas some popular models in the basic and feature phone departments as of this data-driven review rocked 5-megapixel cams. It also unsurprisingly opts out of the selfie race, forgoing a front-facing camera entirely .

Display-wise, the 3310 4G goes back for a 320 x 240 2.4-inch colored display , which it lifts straight from the playbooks of many competing basic phones. Its 13.35mm thickness might also turn off some buyers, seeing that many of its bar phone rivals measure only roughly 12mm -- if you're into little phones, look no further than our gallery of small and lightweight phones here . A much-bigger con, however, comes in the form of its single micro SIM card slot , seeing that its 3G-only sibling comes with a dual-SIM variant, not to mention that an extra SIM card tray goes a long way for phones of its caliber.

As for its pros, the 3310 4G boasts, well, 4G LTE connectivity , which could make a world of difference for a basic phone in terms of connectivity -- by 2018 measures, 3G-only connections belonged to the stone age. Its 4G adapter is bedecked with a mobile hotspot feature as well as the duo of VoLTE (voice over LTE networks) and HD voice , both of which aim to optimize overall in-call audio quality.

While the 3310 3G's pros and cons only include 128MB of internal memory and support for 32GB of top-up storage, this 4G variant nicely upgrades it to 512MB , with support for up to 64GB microSD cards this time . It also has 256MB of RAM at the ready, with standard MP3 and FM radio players also joining in.

Going back to its flaws, the Nokia 3310 4G's offers a paltry battery capacity of only 1200mAh . Sure, 1200mAh sounds like a run-of-the-mill capacity for conventional candybar phones, but considering its 4G LTE connectivity (and colored screen, for that matter), it could spell some trouble for this throwback model.

At the end of the day, the Nokia 3310 4G calls out to basic phone shoppers looking for some kind of nostalgic rush, but its 4G connectivity also makes it sound like a decent backup phone.
