ROKiT IO 3D Pros & Cons Review

- Analysis by KJ David

Simply put, the ROKiT IO 3D is a modestly-specked smartphone that's defined by the glasses-free 3D technology delivered through its entry-level 5.45-inch 1440 x 720 HD+ 18:9 display . The aforementioned innovation (Check out other innovative phones here) allows users to stream 3D content without having to put on 3D glasses -- it is preloaded with ROKFLiX, the brand's repository of 3D multimedia content.

Looking at the rest of its pros and cons, however, this unlocked smartphone is merely a low-budget model, being powered by a meager 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6739 processor clubbed with only 2GB of RAM . Moreover, for a phone capable of streaming 3D videos and running 3D games, its 16GB memory extendable by up to 128GB does not sound that reassuring.

Its cons also include a banal (by the standards as of this technical Phonerated review) 2500mAh lithium-ion battery , which obviously shudders in comparison to the 3000mAh cells lugged by a few of its budget-class competitors. At the very least, it comes with dual nano SIM card slots and standard 4G LTE connectivity, while a circular fingerprint scanner sitting underneath its rear camera is on storage duties.

Heading over to its cameras, the IO 3D's 8-megapixel rear cam and 2-megapixel selfie cam are far from pros, considering that a lot of other low-end smartphones available around the time of its 2019 Q1 market entry tout 13-megapixel rear-facing primary cameras and at least 5-megapixel secondary cams.

Its other pros and cons include free 12-month subscriptions to ROKiT-specific services, such as the ROK Talk Wi-Fi calling application that's largely for outbound international calls and the ROK Health feature.

In summary, ROKiT's IO 3D is an overall low-end smartphone, but with 3D content streaming amidst its low-key specs, it possibly appeals to practically-minded multimedia junkies.
