Samsung Galaxy Proclaim Review of Pros And Cons

Picture of the Samsung Galaxy Proclaim, by Samsung

The Samsung Galaxy Proclaim sports reasonable features for a low-end phone, including a 1000Mhz processor, an ergonomic design, and even a preinstalled 2GB MicroSD memory card. However, we cannot expect much from its 3-megapixel camera and it runs the older Android Gingerbread instead of the newer Ice Cream Sandwich.

On-paper Review rating:

Pros:

Reasonable SAR (radiation) rating:

We've seen phones with a lower SAR rating, but 0.62 watts per kilogram of body mass is honorable, on a scale that goes from 0 to 1.60...

Swype:

With Swype, you can enter text just by gliding a finger over the letters one would normally press.

Includes a memory card:

It is great that the Samsung Galaxy Proclaim comes with a 2GB MicroSD memory card.

Cons or Not-so-great Features:

Just a TFT?:

TFT displays are fine (they used to be the finest of the finest), but in such an advanced phone, we would expect AMOLED, or even SuperAMOLED displays, known for their better brightness in sunlight, richer contrast and lower energy consumption.

Unknown weight:

It's frustrating that we could not find its weight information.
