Though sharing most of the Redmi 4's (standard version) specs, the Redmi 4A takes a staggering drop from its base model's 4100mAh power cap to only 3120mAh this time, slapping on a con right off the bat. Moreover, it loses the original Redmi 4's fingerprint sensor and replaces the eight-core 1.4GHz CPU with a quad-core chip that also clocks in at 1.4GHz . Also, it sports a middling (by 2016 Q4 standards) 5-inch HD-720p 296ppi display .

On the flip side, the Xiaomi Redmi 4A's pros include a 16GB memory expandable by up to 128GB , which we find fitting for its 13-megapixel Full-HD-video rear-facing camera . As of its release, its 5-megapixel selfie camera does not sound too shabby as well. Tying together its pros and cons are dual SIM card slots and the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow ecosystem skinned with MIUI 8 .

Knowing that it sits an entire level lower versus the original Redmi 4, the Redmi 4A calls out to users looking for an all-around mid-level smartphone.
