BLU Life One X3 Review of Pros And Cons

- Analysis by KJ David

Powered by a 5000mAh monster battery (as BLU calls it), the Life One X3 is a middle-class smartphone for the power-hungry user. Having said that, we still caught a couple of unsettling cons as we put its specs under the microscope. These include the 64GB-only external memory support accompanying its 32GB inbuilt storage, exactly half the 128GB microSD allowance offered by a number of its mid-end rivals. It is also a heavyweight compared to many models in its class, weighing 182 grams , while the average as of this specs-based review hovered around 150g only. The burdensome physique is a con that it shares with most other big-battery phones, though. Also, its weight is countered by promising endurance test scores, which include a 720-hour maximum standby time and a 2-day standard usage time.

Among its other pros and cons are a 13-megapixel FHD-video-recording (1080p) rear-facing camera and a promising (by mid-range standards) 13-megapixel selfie shooter equipped with its own dedicated LED flash , which not many of its contemporaries have. It also comes with a hefty 3GB RAM , although its 1.3GHz eight-core 64-bit processor sounds like a slight drawback, considering that many mid- to high-end octa-core contenders operate on 2GHz-or-higher eight-core processors. Fingerprint-based security , with the sensor embedded into its home button, is on board its feature set as well.

For its display, the BLU Life One X3 opts for a 5.5-inch Full HD 400ppi screen, which is so-so, given the rise of 2K displays around its release date. Its aforementioned facade is shielded by a curved glass panel that is met by an aluminum housing . It is only available in Black , however, which is kind of weird, since a lot of other BLU phones are offered in at least three color options.

As far as pros and cons are concerned, the Life One X3 could have used some refinements in terms of storage and processing (a faster eight-core engine would have really gone a long way), but it certainly packs a lot of life with its massive battery cell.
