BLU's Tank Xtreme Pro is the much-needed upgrade to the Tank Xtreme 5.0. Sporting a better main camera, a bigger battery, and more room for storage, it's a definite step-up compared to its predecessor. But how does it compare to similar rugged smartphones from other brands?
Starting off with its cameras's pros and cons, we noticed that its 8-megapixel rear sensor doesn't really have what it takes to trump other models, but it still positions itself as a decent spec. The situation differs for the front-facing snapper, however, as the 5-megapixel resolution that it sports appear preferable over offerings from the competition

Physically, it may appear relatively-compact next to the Snopow M9-LTE, but take that away, and you're left with a comparison that is lopsided against the Tank Xtreme Pro's favor. Compared to the majority of rugged phones in the comparison below, it's noticeably standing on the heavier side

In the face of these cons, the Tank Xtreme Pro attempts to compensate by offering promising performance specs. Running at 1.5GHz and with 2GB of RAM to spare, it's definitely not an underachiever in the hardware arena.

The various pros and cons mentioned here show the Tank Xtreme Pro to be somewhat of a slacker in terms of portability, but a promising option when it comes to longevity and performance. With this, we deem it safe to say that it's a formidable contender for rugged-phone fans who can't really be bothered to shell out serious bucks for a higher-end and more sophisticated model.
