Quite the opposite of what its moniker might suggest, the BLU Advance A4 2019 is a low-class smartphone whose pros and cons are tailored to non-techies and pragmatists, probably even to aging users.
Among its most archaic specs is the combination of a quad-core 1.3GHz processor and a paltry 512MB-only RAM that could sound deal-breaking to some entry-level smartphone shoppers, especially since eight-core models that cost just a few more dollars were no longer that hard to find around the time of this on-paper Phonerated review.
This unlocked BLU phone also does not offer 4G-LTE network connectivity , despite such feature being quite commonplace among low-class models when it entered the market. It does, however, run on Android 8.1 Oreo Go Edition , which is a lighter, stripped-down version of the stock operating system that's focused on making low-end phones perform smoother than older ones -- ergo, a pro in our book.

Going back to its cons, the A4 2019 suffers from a 5-megapixel-only main camera that flounders in comparison to the 8- or 13-megapixel shooters offered by a few other models within its price group. Additionally, its 2-megapixel front cam is among the lowest-resolution selfie cams 2019 has to offer.
When it comes to storage, it's easy to appreciate this Advance model's 16GB internal memory , knowing that most other essentials-only smartphones do not go beyond 8GB. Just like many of its 2019-released cousins from BLU, it supports up to 64GB of external memory.
Joining its entry-level mishmash of pros and cons are a tiny 4-inch screen that's somewhat uncharacteristic of an Android phone that came out in 2019 (2019 was a year of wide-screen low-enders, after all), dual SIM card trays, and a simple Black finish.
Wrapping up, the Advance A4 2019 is a low-end model for those who just want a cheap, unsophisticated Android phone.
